Zelenskyy appointed Mykhailo Drapatyi as the new Commander of the Ground Forces

Zelenskyy approved the new Commander of the Ground Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, appointing Mykhailo Drapatyi, and made Oleh Apostol the Deputy Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

He informs that the appointments were agreed upon with Syrskyi.

"Major General Mykhailo Drapatyi successfully organized the defense on the Kharkiv direction, thwarting the advance of Russian forces. Colonel Oleh Apostol – an experienced commander of the 95th Separate Air Assault Brigade. Both have proven their effectiveness in battles," writes Zelenskyy.

He notes that their main task is – "to significantly enhance the combat readiness of our army, ensure quality training of servicemen, and implement innovative approaches to personnel management in the Armed Forces of Ukraine".
