"The risk of losing the Donetsk region before Trump’s inauguration has increased significantly," - Bezuhla

This was written by deputy Maryana Bezuhla, criticizing the latest changes in the command staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

Let us recall, recently General Drapatyi was appointed as the Commander of the Ground Forces, the commander of the 95th Brigade, Apostol, became the Deputy Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, and the commander of the 93rd Brigade, Palisa, became the Deputy Head of the President’s Office.

In Bezuhla’s opinion, these appointments could significantly weaken the front-line defense.

“Throughout the week, information has been coming in about an intensification of the Russian offensive on Kramatorsk. One of the key brigades under Drapatyi’s command is the 93rd, led by Palisa. On the days when the enemy intensifies offensive actions, Drapatyi and Palisa are transferred to Kyiv to non-combat positions. This results in a management vacuum both in the front-line command structure and in one of the key brigades at the time of the enemy’s advance. Therefore, instead of expanding Drapatyi’s combat powers and granting him control over a larger part of the front, he is appointed to a rear position as the Commander of the Ground Forces. An "honorary promotion." The tasks in this position include preparing reserves, coordinating the work of the territorial recruitment centers and administrative services, and endlessly creating "paper" brigades that have discredited themselves. Drapatyi’s deputies are from Syrskyi and Pavlyuk, and the personnel is formed from relatives and friends of the general clans. Even with the existing powers that Drapatyi has not been given, resolving rear issues takes several months. But the general’s specialization is combat management, in which he has achieved unique mastery. As a result, we lose the best combat leader, and the risk of losing the Donetsk region before Trump’s inauguration increases significantly,” Bezuhla writes.

In her opinion, problems may also arise in the Kursk region.

“One of the key brigades in Kursk land - the 95th under the command of Apostol - is also left without a commander. Apostol was called back to Kyiv. This additionally increases combat risks,” writes the deputy, asserting that “the entire situation looks like a planned Russian operation.”
