Armed Forces of Ukraine explained the significance of the Kurakhove direction for the Russians

The Kurakhove direction plays an important role for the Russian occupiers in their attempt to straighten the front line, as this will allow them to regroup and withdraw some units for recovery.

This was stated by Nazar Voloshyn, a representative of the operational-strategic group of troops (OSGT) "Khortytsia".

He emphasized that the situation in the area of responsibility of the OSGT remains tense but controlled.

"The enemy has been most actively attacking in our area of responsibility - these are the directions of Pokrovsk, Kurakhove, Vremivsk," said Voloshyn.

Speaking about the Kurakhove direction, the representative stressed that the Defence Forces continue to hold back the enemy, who is attempting to break through the defensive lines of the Armed Forces.

"For our adversary, this direction is important for straightening the front line, as it will allow them to regroup and withdraw units for recovery. Then, after accumulating resources, they will be able to conduct offensive actions again," he explained.

Voloshyn also noted that the Vremivsk direction is a priority for the enemy, as it is part of the Kurakhove-Pokrovsk offensive. "By repelling the settlement of Novyi Komar in this direction, the Defence Forces have improved their tactical position," the representative added.
