The occupiers poisoned over two thousand Ukrainian Armed Forces soldiers with chemical substances: there are fatalities

Since the start of the full-scale war, more than 2,000 Ukrainian servicemen have been hospitalized due to poisoning by chemical substances used by Russia, and three servicemen of the Armed Forces of Ukraine have died.

Source: Head of the Environmental Safety and Civil Protection Department of the Radiation, Chemical, and Biological Protection Directorate of the Support Forces Command of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Artem Vlasyuk.

"Since the beginning of the full-scale invasion, more than 2,000 servicemen with varying degrees of poisoning by unknown or known chemical substances have been sent to military medical facilities and the general medical infrastructure of Ukraine. This includes irritant poisonous substances - CS and CN, which are used in ammunition for riot control."

According to him, "regarding the deceased servicemen, unfortunately, we have three such fatal cases."

He did not disclose the names of the deceased or the units in which they served for safety reasons.

Vlasyuk added that the Russians predominantly use dangerous chemical substances in the directions where they concentrate their greatest efforts and conceal the use of these means with "dense" fire impact, which makes it impossible to detect and take samples for further investigation.

"In general, since the beginning of the full-scale Russian invasion of Ukraine, the radiation, chemical, biological reconnaissance units, including the Support Forces Command of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, have recorded more than 4,800 cases of the use of dangerous chemical substances," he said.
