A Ukrainian soldier spoke about the intention to oust the occupiers from positions in Toretsk

In Toretsk, where heavy fighting is ongoing, neighboring Ukrainian UAV units are preparing a surprise for the Russian army to maximize the enemy’s eviction from the city and occupied positions.

This was stated by Yehor Firsov, the chief sergeant of the strike UAV company of the 109th brigade, during a TV marathon broadcast.

Firsov reported that the defence line held by his brigade runs near Toretsk, and the fighters of the 109th brigade also assist neighboring units, who are currently facing difficult challenges. Specifically, they launch FPV drones over long distances towards Donetsk, even reaching Avdiivka.

He also noted that the occupiers use traditional tactics – attacks by small groups. The Ukrainian strike UAV unit tries to destroy all enemy equipment it detects.

He pointed out that there is an experienced Ukrainian brigade in Toretsk, trying to hold back the Russian army.

"There are some details I cannot disclose, our guys are holding on as much as possible. By the way, we, together with neighboring units, want to organize a surprise for the enemy," said the military personnel.

According to him, UAV units are currently preparing fiber-optic-based UAVs, which can be used in cities, including in Toretsk.

By the way, on December 15, analysts from the Institute for the Study of War reported that the Russian army made advances in the center of Toretsk, northwest of the "Central" mine and up to the market in the city center.
