A teenager from Ukraine who was taken to Russia committed suicide
In Russia, 18-year-old Ukrainian Oleksandr Yakushchenko committed suicide. He was illegally taken from the Kherson region to the Russian Federation.
This became known with reference to "Important Stories" and the Office of the Prosecutor General of Ukraine on Telegram.
Information about the teenager in the media
As "Important Stories" writes, Oleksandr Yakushchenko lived in an orphanage near Kherson. The director of the orphanage collaborated with the Russian occupiers, so when the right-bank part of the Kherson region was liberated, she left for Russia with the children.

The 18-year-old ended up in a foster family in the Krasnodar region. Shortly before his suicide, he sent audio messages to friends, saying that he "was needed by no one" and "if he hadn’t come to the Krasnodar region, there wouldn’t have been any problems."
According to the publication, Oleksandr hadn’t seen his biological mother, Olena Yakushchenko, since 2016. They had a strained relationship and communicated only by phone.
Case opened
As reported by the Prosecutor General’s Office, due to information about the suicide of the boy - a resident of a family-type orphanage in the village of Tokarivka, Kherson region, a criminal case has been initiated on the fact of committing a war crime that led to the death of a person.
