In Ukraine, a new national holiday has been established – the Day of Interethnic Harmony and Cultural Diversity
The head of state signed an order stating that the annual celebration of the Day of Interethnic Harmony and Cultural Diversity will take place on May 21.
A new state holiday has been established in Ukraine - the Day of Interethnic Harmony and Cultural Diversity. It will be celebrated every year on May 21.
The relevant decree No. 883/2024 was approved by the President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelenskyy.
The decree states that the Day of Interethnic Harmony, which will be celebrated annually on May 21, is introduced with the aim of strengthening the unity and harmony of the Ukrainian people, affirming Ukrainian national and civic identity. The holiday is also aimed at supporting the free development of the cultural diversity of indigenous peoples and national minorities (communities) and showing respect for their contribution to the protection of state sovereignty and independence of Ukraine, in the military struggle against the aggressor.
