Last year was the most devastating for Ukraine’s energy system.

This was reported by Energy Minister Herman Halushchenko.

"The destruction was significant, much greater than in previous years. The nature of the strikes, their complexity, and the weapons used have changed. Therefore, it really was the hardest year for the energy system," stated the head of the Ministry of Energy.

He emphasized that with such a level of attacks, the defensive barriers are not coping.

"In reality, air defense is indeed the best protection. Undoubtedly, partners and Ukraine are constantly working in this direction to increase the volumes of air defense systems. We have already stated how many we need. It is quite clear that with this level of attacks - imagine, simultaneously 250-300 means of attack, drones, and missiles are engaged - no country in the world has yet faced such challenges. And if we can ensure 100% air defense, it will make it possible to protect both the energy and other infrastructures. This is important, without it, it will be difficult... The question is how quickly these solutions will be implemented. But we clearly show the situation and demonstrate the consequences. And, it seems to me, it is so obvious that such decisions should be made quickly," said Halushchenko.
