Zelenskyy: Ukraine needs security guarantees at the level of Israel

The President of Ukraine noted that during the shelling of Israel, about a thousand rockets were shot down by allies, although Israel is not a NATO member. Israel is protected not only by the "NATO umbrella" but also possesses nuclear weapons.

The President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelenskyy, reported that during the shelling of Israel, aviation from the USA, France, and the United Kingdom aided in the defense of Tel Aviv. He discussed this in his recent interview with American journalist Lex Fridman, the video of which is posted on the author’s YouTube channel.

"A thousand rockets were shot down, so what is that? Those are security guarantees, they just aren’t called NATO. Perhaps the word ‘NATO’ bothers someone? What’s the problem?" the president asked.

"When rockets were heading to Israel, and despite Israel not being in NATO, NATO aviation intervened, Middle Eastern countries’ air defense worked, forces from different countries—these are also security guarantees. And nuclear weapons, if anything, Israel has them. So why do they need NATO when, essentially, they have more than NATO," Zelenskyy stated.
