President Zelenskyy and Emmanuel Macron held a conversation regarding the security of Ukraine

President Volodymyr Zelenskyy held talks with his French counterpart Emmanuel Macron. They discussed security issues for Ukraine, including the deployment of French military forces on its territory.

This was reported by Zelenskyy on Monday, January 13.

"I had a conversation with the President of France, Emmanuel Macron. We discussed in detail the situation on the front lines and the achievements of the Ukrainian forces in the Kursk operation," said Zelenskyy.

The head of state thanked Macron and the French people for their continuous support, which helps save Ukrainian lives and brings Ukraine closer to lasting peace and stability in Europe.

"We also agreed to closely cooperate with key allies to achieve peace and develop effective security guarantees," the head of state noted.

The parties discussed, as one of such guarantees, the French initiative regarding the deployment of military formations in Ukraine. Practical steps for its implementation were considered, as well as possible expansion and involvement of other countries in this initiative.
