The wife of a colonel in the medical service of the Armed Forces of Ukraine was charged with suspicion due to fictitious combat payments

A colonel of the Ukrainian Armed Forces medical service from Vinnytsia illegally arranged for his wife to have a fictitious job in a combat unit located in the conflict zone so that she could receive combat payments.

This became known from the relevant criminal case.

The officer, no later than June 12, 2023, while performing the duties of the chief specialist of the operational medical department of the military medical center of the unified headquarters of the military unit, developed a criminal plan for her benefit. While on a business trip to the unit’s operational command post, he conspired with the acting commander of the medical company of the 59th mobile military hospital and his wife, who works as a nurse in the military medical clinical center of the Central region.

The officer stated that the woman did not actually perform her duties in the combat zone in the Donetsk region, but was in the Kyiv and Cherkasy regions and unjustifiably received financial support and additional remuneration in an increased amount. Damages from June to May amounted to 962,000 hryvnias.

The woman has been charged under Part 5 of Article 27 and Part 5 of Article 191 of the Criminal Code. Her HYUNDAI TUCSON 1598 (2023) vehicle has been seized.
