General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine: The occupiers used chemical weapons almost 500 times in December

Reported by the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

"Alongside conventional firepower, the enemy uses shells loaded with hazardous chemicals like K-51 and RG-V0, which are riot control agents and banned for use as means of warfare," stated the General Staff.

Additionally, according to military information, there is a significant proportion of shells containing dangerous chemical compounds of unknown types. As of today, it is known that:

• in December 2024, 434 incidents of such shells usage were recorded by the radiation, chemical, and biological reconnaissance units of the Support Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

• since February 2023, a total of 5389 instances of hazardous chemical usage have been recorded.

"With the onset of Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine, the radiation, chemical, and biological reconnaissance units have been directly documenting cases of dangerous chemical use on the battlefield," added the General Staff.

Meanwhile, according to the staff, since February 2023, the use of dangerous chemicals by the Russians has become systematic.

"Russia blatantly violates the rules of warfare, ignoring the norms and obligations under the Convention on the Prohibition of the Development, Production, Stockpiling and Use of Chemical Weapons and on Their Destruction," emphasized the military.
