Sweden announced the largest military aid package for Ukraine

Sweden will provide Ukraine with the largest military aid package. Its value amounts to 13.5 billion Swedish kronor (approximately $1.25 billion).

This was reported by the press service of the Swedish Ministry of Defence.

It is noted that this package will also enhance Ukraine’s long-range capabilities. Sweden plans to allocate about 1 billion Swedish kronor to enable Ukraine to produce long-range missiles and drones.

It also includes doubling the previous 16 combat boats of the CB 90 type donated to Ukraine and anti-tank weapons, as well as investments to support the Ukrainian defence industry.

The agency noted that this is already the 18th military aid package for Ukraine, bringing the total amount of packages provided since the beginning of Russia’s full-scale invasion to about 61.9 billion Swedish kronor (over $5.6 billion).

Overall, the aid package announced on Thursday consists of eight components, the largest of which is various procurements of the latest equipment, mainly from Swedish and other European defence sectors, for transfer to Ukraine.

The package, with a total value of 13.5 billion Swedish kronor (approximately $1.25 billion), includes the following components:

  • procurements for free transfer worth about 5.9 billion Swedish kronor;
  • financial donations amounting to about 2.8 billion Swedish kronor;
  • donations of equipment from the Swedish Armed Forces with corresponding replacement procurements worth about 3.3 billion Swedish kronor (146 trucks; 16 CB 90 boats; 23 weapon stations for naval use; 1 million 12.7mm ammunition rounds; 1500 TOW anti-tank missiles; 200 anti-tank shells, including training equipment; individual soldier and team equipment; personal protective equipment against CBRN threats);
  • services through the Swedish Defence Research Agency (FOI) and the Swedish Defence University (FHS) valued at approximately 180 million Swedish kronor;
  • training worth 650 million Swedish kronor (funds to support Armed Forces training for various initiatives throughout 2025, e.g., Interflex, which conducts basic training for Ukrainian military personnel);
  • supply decision valued at 400 million Swedish kronor (includes various types of maintenance measures for already provided Swedish equipment).
