Near Pokrovsk, the invaders have encountered difficulties and are suffering significant losses, - military
Russians are diverting some of the resources of the Armed Forces of Ukraine by attacking positions in the direction of Myrnohrad, attempting to distribute the forces of our defenders.
This was reported by an officer of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, political scientist Kyrylo Sazonov, on the Kyiv24 broadcast.
He emphasized that Russia is relocating its units even from the Kurakhove direction to Pokrovsk, as this direction is currently of key importance to them.
"We now see that the main direction of the enemy’s strike is the south and southwest of Pokrovsk. They have some advancement there. It didn’t work on the northeast. The other two directions where they exert pressure are the northeast, the junction on the road from Pokrovsk to Bakhmut, and the direction of Myrnohrad," he described the situation around the city.
Sazonov is confident that the Russians have no chance of breaking through to Myrnohrad.
"However, this diverts some of our resources, and in this way, they are trying to disperse our forces," he noted.
The military officer emphasized that the main forces of the enemy are currently concentrated precisely southwest of Pokrovsk.
"Nevertheless, we notice that the enemy is beginning to encounter difficulties. This has been evident over the past days, even weeks. Since the advancement does not exceed one kilometer per day, and their losses are not only large but extremely large. Nonetheless, Russia is concentrating forces, gathering everything available in this direction. They realize that taking this city head-on won’t work, so they are trying to bypass it to reach the road from Pokrovsk to Pavlohrad," said Sazonov.
According to him, storming Pokrovsk head-on makes no sense for the Russians, as around the city, according to preliminary estimates, there are concentrated 50-70 thousand enemy personnel.
"And when they stormed Avdiivka, there were 110-120 thousand," Sazonov emphasized.
