In the Carpathians, a vehicle with draft evaders was detained with gunfire

At the Ukrainian-Romanian border, three men from Ivano-Frankivsk, Lviv, and Vinnytsia regions were detained with shooting. The offenders were issued administrative protocols for illegal border crossing and malicious disobedience to the staff of the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine.

As reported by the Western Regional Directorate of the State Border Guard Service on January 3, the three liable for military service bought maps with a route to the Romanian border from an unknown person in a messenger, paying $6,000 each. To reach the border area, they hired a driver from the Chernivtsi region.

«The border patrol had to make several warning shots to stop the vehicle. The offenders turned out to be residents of Ivano-Frankivsk, Lviv, and Vinnytsia regions, who later confessed to their intention to illegally reach Romania,» the State Border Guard Service noted.

Protocols were drawn up against the detainees for attempting illegal crossing of the state border of Ukraine and malicious disobedience to the lawful order or requirement of a serviceman of the State Border Guard Service. The sanctions of the articles provide for a fine or 15 days of administrative arrest.
