A close associate of the fugitive Yanukovych, Hanna Herman, was spotted at the Prayer Breakfast in the USA

Viktor Yanukovych’s former ally Hanna Herman was spotted in the United States. The former deputy from the Party of Regions might be in Washington this week for the Prayer Breakfast. The ex-MP surprised many with her youthful appearance.

The news that Hanna Herman is in the U.S. for the Prayer Breakfast was reported in the Telegram channel "Symoroz Reports", managed by Ukrainian Armed Forces volunteer Oleh Symoroz. The channel published a photo of Hanna Herman, or someone who closely resembles her. In the image, the ex-MP can be seen wearing large dark sunglasses that cover almost half her face. She chose a black business suit for the event, adorned with a sunflower brooch. Herman was noted among the event’s guests.

"A long-time ally who fell under U.S. sanctions, Viktor Yanukovych’s associate, the regional Hanna Herman, did not hesitate to attend the Prayer Breakfast in Washington," the post states.

As is known, during Yanukovych’s time in power, Herman actively campaigned for friendship with Russia. However, she chooses Spain or the U.S. for residence and public events.

"The one who advocated most loudly for friendship with Russia, whose politics led to Russia’s war against Ukraine, has chosen Spain for living and events in the U.S., countries they once considered enemies…", added the Telegram channel. 

Hanna Herman was last seen in 2023 at a resort in Spain. She was also present at the funeral of President Leonid Kravchuk in 2022. 

In 2004, Hanna Herman was the spokesperson for then-President Viktor Yanukovych. She headed the Cabinet’s press service. After the Orange Revolution, she became an advisor and press secretary to Yanukovych as head of the Party of Regions. In the 2006 parliamentary elections, she became an MP. In the premature 2007 elections, she entered the Verkhovna Rada through the Party of Regions’ list. 

From December 2012, Herman became a deputy of the VII convocation of the Verkhovna Rada. In 2013, she was appointed as Yanukovych’s outside advisor. In 2014, Oleksandr Turchynov dismissed her. Ukrainians remember Herman for her votes in support of the "dictatorial laws" and active promotion of friendly relations with Russia. Her exact location during the war is unknown, but it is assumed that she lives in Spain.
