Due to the threat of UAV attacks, several Russian airports have suspended operations
Restrictions on the arrival and departure of civilian aircraft have been implemented at three airports in Russia. The reason was the threat of drone attacks.
This is reported by Russian media.
Specifically, plan "Carpet" has been implemented at the "Stupino" airport in Nizhny Novgorod. Temporary restrictions on the reception and departure of aircraft have been in effect since 04:40 Moscow time (03:40 Kyiv time).
Restrictions have also been implemented at the "Gumrak" airport in Volgograd. The air harbor has not been receiving or dispatching flights since 00:32 Moscow time (23:32 Kyiv time).
Furthermore, at 06:55 Moscow time (05:55 Kyiv time), plan "Carpet" was implemented at the "Pulkovo" airport in Saint Petersburg. The reason was a drone in the Leningrad region.
At 8:15 Moscow time (7:15 Kyiv time), the restrictions at the "Pulkovo" airport were lifted.
According to the Ministry of Defence, during the past night, on-duty air defence systems intercepted and destroyed 35 unmanned aerial vehicles over the territory of Russia:
- 18 UAVs over the territory of the Kursk region;
- four each over the territories of the Oryol region and Krasnodar Krai;
- three each over the territories of the Voronezh and Rostov regions;
- one each over the territories of the Bryansk, Tula regions, and the temporarily occupied Crimea.
