DIU of the MoD reports: Two latest radar systems of the aggressor country destroyed near Moscow
On the night of February 7, a powerful explosion occurred in the Moscow region on the territory of military unit 52116. As a result of the operation, the Valday radar complexes were destroyed.
It is reported that Putin’s army lost two such complexes at once. This was announced by the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defence of Ukraine.
According to Ukrainian intelligence, the powerful explosion occurred in Dolgoprudny. The explosion destroyed two Russian Valday radar complexes designed for round-the-clock automatic detection and counteraction of UAVs.
"This is the latest development of the Russian military-industrial complex - the first of its kind to be adopted by the army of the aggressor state of Russia," the agency reported.
The Main Intelligence Directorate also emphasized that military unit 52116, on whose territory the radar complexes were destroyed, is responsible for the airspace security over Moscow.
According to open sources, the Valday radar complexes are capable of detecting drones the size of a Mavic or Phantom at a distance of no less than 5-6 km. For larger targets, the detection range exceeds 15 km. In Russia, they also boasted of the high accuracy of determining target coordinates for further impact with their own means or transmitting to third-party fire means.
