Drone attack disabled the largest oil pumping station in Kuban
The largest oil pumping station of the "Caspian Pipeline Consortium" (CPC) in Russia, "Kropotkinskaya," went out of order due to drone strikes. There are no injuries among the station’s personnel.
This was reported by the CPC.
According to the report, an attack was carried out with seven unmanned aerial vehicles, which contained explosive devices and metal shrapnel.
"At the moment, the ’Kropotkinskaya’ station is not operational. Oil transportation through the ’Tengiz - Novorossiysk’ pipeline system is being conducted at reduced pumping modes, bypassing the station," the report said.
A CPC management team has been dispatched to the site to assess the damage and determine the time needed to restore the station’s functionality.
The "Kropotkinskaya" station, located in the Kavkazsky district of the Kuban, is the largest oil pumping station of the CPC in Russia.
The "Caspian Pipeline Consortium" (CPC) is an international oil transportation company involving Russian, Kazakh, and foreign extraction companies, created for the construction and operation of the Caspian main pipeline, which stretches over 1,500 km.
The pipeline mainly receives oil from fields in Western Kazakhstan, as well as crude oil from Russian producers. The oil is transported to the company’s marine terminal in the village of Yuzhnaya Ozereevka (west of Novorossiysk), where it is loaded onto tankers for shipment to global markets.
