The British government reports on Starmer’s call with Zelenskyy. According to the report, the British Prime Minister disagreed with Trump’s opinion that elections should be held in Ukraine.

«The Prime Minister expressed his support for President Zelenskyy as the democratically elected leader of Ukraine and stated that it is entirely reasonable to suspend elections during wartime, as the United Kingdom did during the Second World War,» the statement said.

At the same time, Starmer «emphasized his support for the US-led efforts to achieve lasting peace in Ukraine, which would deter Russia from any future aggression.»
