Russian troops often carry out attacks alone or in pairs, having to cover significant distances on foot as their equipment is destroyed by Ukrainian drone operators.

Russian units in one of the directions in the combat zone have changed their tactics and attack Ukrainian positions in small groups without waiting for reinforcements.

This was reported by Captain Anton Shestakov, head of the operational planning section of the 4th battalion of the "Spartan" operational brigade, in an interview with Army TV.

According to Shestakov, Russian servicemen often conduct attacks alone or in pairs, relying solely on their own strength. This approach, he noted, was not previously characteristic of other front-line sectors.

"Very often they attack one by one, in pairs with weapons intending to seize the position on their own. We’ve never seen or encountered this on any sector besides this one," said Anton Shestakov.

Additionally, the captain noted that Russian assault groups have to cover significant distances on foot, as their equipment is destroyed by Ukrainian drone operators. During these transitions, they are hunted by Ukrainian UAVs, often causing soldiers to hide in abandoned dugouts, where they encounter remnants of previous groups.

Situation on the Pokrovsk direction

According to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, in the Pokrovsk direction, Ukrainian defenders repelled 49 assault attacks of the enemy towards the settlements of Berezivka, Myrne, Promin, Lysivka, Pokrovsk, Novoukrainka, Zvirove, Kotlyne, Udachne, Nadiivka, Uspenivka, Preobrazhenka, Zaporizhzhya, Andriivka, Pishchane, Myrolyubivka, and Bohdanivka.

Military correspondent Bohdan Miroshnykov noted that the counterattacks of the Defence Forces near Pokrovsk are the first signs of stabilizing the front line on the southern flank of this direction. However, there is still a long way to go for complete stabilization.

"Pokrovsk may become the first major city in the Donetsk region that the enemy eventually will not be able to capture," he wrote on social media.

At the same time, Miroshnykov noted that stability on the front should be spoken of with caution, as the situation can change.

"The enemy is strong, stubborn, and insidious. We do not know how far they can go in their intentions to capture the city," Miroshnykov concluded.
