In the Dnipropetrovsk region, military personnel who were helping deserters for $2,000 were detained
In the Dnipropetrovsk region, a group of servicemen was exposed, who allegedly facilitated systematic desertion. According to the investigation, they helped colleagues to freely leave the military town and pass through checkpoints for money. The perpetrators provided further instructions on how to avoid prosecution by law enforcement.
For their “services,” they demanded from 1 to 2 thousand dollars. They offered other servicemen 4 thousand dollars to avoid participating in combat operations and to transfer to rear units for service.
This was reported by Informator with reference to a post by the Dnipropetrovsk region police.
The scheme was organized by a 38-year-old man who involved subordinates and other participants in the plan. Investigators documented four cases of desertion involving suspicious individuals.
On February 26, 13 searches were conducted at the residences of the suspects. Mobile phones, cars, rough notes and documents, as well as weapons and drugs, were seized.
