The Russian army advanced near Kuryliivka and Fyholivka, - DeepState

According to DeepState, the Russian Federation (RF) army has made some progress in the Kurylivka and Fiholivka areas in the Kursk region.

These achievements are partly due to the involvement of a significant number of servicemen from North Korea’s armed forces.

In December 2024, units of the DPRK army suffered significant losses during assaults in Russia’s Kursk region. Due to this, they are being replenished with new personnel, particularly from the 94th Separate Brigade of the DPRK army, to continue combat operations in the Kursk region.

Analysts from the Institute for the Study of War (ISW) also report on the advancement of North Korean troops in the Kursk region. They note that North Korea’s ability to learn lessons from combat alongside Russia may be impaired due to soldier exhaustion.

Ruslan Mykula, co-founder and analyst of the DeepState project, notes that while some North Korean soldiers have been withdrawn, others are still participating in assault operations in the Kursk region. He also reports that new reinforcements are being prepared from the survivors to continue combat operations.

These data indicate active involvement of North Korean troops in combat operations in the Kursk region, their interaction with Russian forces, and continuous replenishment of personnel to support offensive operations.
