Trump made a statement about security guarantees for Ukraine: first - the end of hostilities
U.S. President Donald Trump does not want to provide Ukraine with security guarantees until the war is over. He emphasized that his priorities differ from those of the Europeans.
This is reported by Sky News.
Commenting on the situation in Ukraine, Trump noted that his priorities do not align with the European ones.
The publication reports that while Ukraine urges for security guarantees to achieve a peace agreement, Trump stated that he wants the hostilities to stop first.
"Before even thinking about that, I want to end the war, finish it... Security comes later, that’s the easier part. The hard part is resolving the conflict," the American leader said.
Also, when asked whether Russia is taking advantage of the U.S. pause in providing assistance and intelligence to Ukraine during the recent attacks, Trump stated that, in his opinion, Russian leader Vladimir Putin "is doing what anyone else would do."
"I think he wants this to stop and be resolved, and I believe he is striking the Ukrainians harder than before, and probably anyone in his position would do the same now," Trump emphasized.
