The United States and Ukraine presented a joint statement following the meeting in Saudi Arabia

Ukraine and the USA have released a joint statement following their meeting in Saudi Arabia.

"Representatives of the two countries highly praised the courage of the Ukrainian people in defending their nation and agreed that now is the time to begin the process of establishing lasting peace," the statement reads.

The document also notes that Ukraine expressed its readiness to accept the US proposal for the immediate implementation of a temporary 30-day ceasefire, which can be extended by mutual agreement of the parties, provided it is accepted and simultaneously implemented by the Russian Federation.
