Lviv border guards uncovered an attempt of illegal departure by draft evaders in a car with diplomatic plates

At the "Krakivets" border crossing on the border with Poland, Lviv border guards, with the help of a service dog, uncovered a scheme of illegal departure of draft dodgers abroad. In a car with diplomatic plates driven by a Palestinian citizen, two men of conscription age were found.

This incident occurred late in the evening of March 6. It was first reported by Transcarpathian journalist Vitaliy Hlahola, and this information was confirmed by sources in the State Border Guard Service.

According to the journalist, on March 6 at 22:23, a Toyota car (license plate DP063003), driven by a 44-year-old Palestinian citizen – the holder of a diplomatic passport – arrived at the exit from Ukraine. A 48-year-old Ukrainian citizen was the passenger.

During the inspection, the service dog reacted, so the border guards decided to perform a more thorough check of the vehicle. The owner initially refused to open the car without the presence of diplomats and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Only in the morning of March 7 did the border guards manage to conduct an inspection.

Two Ukrainians, aged 26 and 33, were hiding in the vehicle cabin. Law enforcement officers have initiated an investigation for illegal border crossing facilitation.

Officially, the State Border Guard Service does not comment on this incident. "There are measures that are not subject to public disclosure for the sake of efficiency and safety. All actions of the border guards are carried out within the framework of current legislation and are aimed at protecting the national interests of Ukraine," reported the 7th border Carpathian detachment.
