Finland announced a new military aid package of 200 million euros

Finland announced a new, 28th military aid package for Ukraine, valued at approximately 200 million euros.

This was stated by the Finnish Minister of Defence, Antti Häkkänen, during a meeting with his Ukrainian counterpart, Rustem Umyerov.

The package is to be approved by the government and the president of Finland.

"As before, the details of the aid package are not disclosed. However, it can be mentioned that this time it includes, among other things, artillery ammunition, which is currently in high demand," said Häkkänen.

He noted that in Finland, "there is broad political support and national unity regarding aid to Ukraine."

"It is also important that we have been able to combine support for Ukraine with strengthening internal security of supplies through the industrial support program," the Finnish minister added.

During the meeting between Häkkänen and Umyerov, a Memorandum of Understanding on defence cooperation between the two countries’ defence agencies was also signed.

The document aims to deepen defence cooperation. The areas of closer cooperation cover defence materials, information exchange, research and innovation, ammunition production, and more.
