This morning, the body of a man was discovered on the roadside in the Kamyanske district. The deceased turned out to be the former deputy mayor of Kamyanske, a representative of the "Batkivshchyna" party, Oleksandr Plakhotnik.

He was a few days short of his 50th birthday.

Currently, an investigative team and a forensic laboratory are working at the scene.

"We believe this was a contract killing, we are all shocked," said the head of the information and analytical department of the regional party organization, Volodymyr Fedorov.
