Ukraine received a new version of the agreement on minerals from the United States, - Zelenskyy

President Volodymyr Zelenskyy announced that Ukraine has received a new draft agreement on minerals from the USA. The format of this agreement has been changed.

The head of state said this during a briefing on March 28.

"I would like to note that the official Ukrainian side, namely the Cabinet of Ministers and the Office of the President of Ukraine, today formally received a draft or proposal from the USA. This is important. Not sometime in the past, but today (March 28)," the leader of the state said.

Zelenskyy said that the agreement "included some things that the parties had already rejected."

"Secondly, some time ago, our Deputy Prime Minister Yuliya Svyrydenko received this agreement in bilateral contact with Mr. Besent (US Secretary of the Treasury Scott Besent). She received this document. She said it is difficult to comment on, as it is a completely different document. It contains many things that were not discussed before. Also, some things appeared that the parties had already rejected," the president stated.

Zelenskyy also added that lawyers will review the minerals agreement received from the USA.

"This agreement needs to be compared to determine if it is the same agreement. I want us to receive a specific review from top-level lawyers. Let the lawyers check all these agreements. I will accept the agreement that our side officially received. The format has changed. Let’s study this format and then discuss it. We have the Constitution of Ukraine," the head of state declared.

Let us remind you that earlier, MP of "Holos" and deputy head of the tax committee of the Verkhovna Rada, Yaroslav Zheleznyak, reported that the USA handed over a new draft agreement on minerals to Ukraine, which is to be ratified by the Verkhovna Rada.

In his opinion, this version is unfavorable for Ukraine.
