The situation at the front: The Russian Federation is attacking the most in the Pokrovsk and Kursk directions

On April 8, 2025, 161 combat clashes between the Defence Forces of Ukraine and Russian occupiers were recorded.

This is stated in the report of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

Russian strikes on Ukraine

The enemy conducted one missile and 91 air strikes on the positions of Ukrainian units and settlements, launched three missiles, and dropped 162 guided aerial bombs. In addition, nearly 4,900 shellings were conducted, of which 100 were from multiple launch rocket systems, and 2,180 kamikaze drones were used for strikes.

The aggressor’s airstrikes targeted, in particular, areas of the settlements of Uhroydy, Turya, Pokrovka, Myropil’ske, Dmytrivka, Mala Rybytsia, Krasnopillya in the Sumy region; Zorya, Romanivka, Pokrovsk, Udachne, Zelenyi Kut, Bahatyr, Zirka, Tolstoy, Voskresenka in the Donetsk region; Novopavlivka, Sichneve in the Dnipropetrovsk region; Hulyaipole in the Zaporizhzhya region; Kozatske in the Kherson region.

Enemy losses

During the past day, the aviation, missile troops, and artillery of the Defence Forces destroyed 10 areas of concentration of personnel and equipment of the Russian invaders.

The situation in Kharkiv region

In the Kharkiv direction, our forces repelled three enemy attacks in the Vovchansk area.

In the Kupyansk direction, five attacks by the occupiers took place over the past day. The Defence Forces repelled enemy assault actions near the settlements of Stepova Novoselivka and Zahryzove.

Fights in the east

In the Lyman direction, the enemy conducted 17 attacks, trying to advance near Hrekivka, Katerynivka, Novyi, and Kolodiazy.

Four enemy assaults towards Hryhorivka, Bilohorivka, and in the area of Verkhn’okamianske were repelled by Ukrainian defenders in the Siversk direction.

In the Kramatorsk direction, six combat engagements were recorded in the areas of Vasyukivka, Chasiv Yar, Bila Hora, and Kurdyumivka.

In the Toretsk direction, the enemy carried out 18 attacks near Ozarjanivka, Toretsk, and Leonidivka.

In the Pokrovsk direction, our defenders stopped 58 assault and offensive actions of the aggressor in the areas of settlements of Kalynove, Yelyzavetivka, Lysivka, Shevchenko, Zvyrove, Udachne, Uspenivka, Novooleksandrivka, Kotliarivka, Bohdanivka, and Andriivka.

In the Novopavlivka direction, the Defence Forces repelled 13 enemy attacks near Konstyantynopil, Rozlyv, Dniproenerhiya, and Burlatske.

South

In the Hulyaipole direction, the invaders conducted three attacks towards Vilne Pole and in the Burlatske area.

In the Orikhiv direction, our defenders repelled four enemy assaults in the areas of Stepove and Lobkove.

In the Prydniprovskyi direction, no combat engagements were recorded over the past day.

Kursk region

In the operational zone in the Kursk region, Ukrainian Defence Forces units repelled 25 attacks by Russian invaders over the past day. Additionally, the enemy made 35 air strikes using 50 guided bombs and conducted 323 artillery shellings of our positions and settlements, including seven from multiple launch rocket systems.

North

In the Volyn and Polissya directions, no signs of the formation of enemy offensive groups were detected.
