Zelenskyy agreed to Putin’s Easter truce: "Silence in response to silence"

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy stated that if Russia is ready to join the format of complete and unconditional silence, Ukraine will act in a mirror-like manner — just as on the part of Russia.

"Silence in response to silence, strikes to defend against strikes. If complete silence truly reigns, Ukraine proposes to extend it even after the conclusion of Easter Day on April 20. This will reveal Russia’s true intentions, as 30 hours are enough for headlines but not enough for real confidence-building measures. Thirty days can give peace a chance," — he added.

Currently, Russian assault actions continue on some sections of the front, and Russian artillery is not quiet.

"Therefore, there is no trust in words from Moscow... Ukraine’s Defence Forces will act rationally, responding in a mirror-like manner. For every Russian strike, there will be an adequate response," — said the president, adding that today there will be further reports from Commander-in-Chief Syrskyi after communicating with brigade commanders on the front lines.
