"The Easter truce" has ended: Zelenskyy announced further reaction of the Armed Forces of Ukraine to the occupiers’ attacks

Russian military forces did not adhere to a complete ceasefire. The Defence Forces will respond in kind to further shelling and attacks by the Russians.

This was stated by President Volodymyr Zelenskyy in his Telegram.

According to the report from the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Oleksandr Syrskyi, as of midnight on April 21, over the past day, the Russian army violated the Easter truce 2935 times.

The most shellings and assault actions occurred in the Pokrovsk direction and also in the Kursk region.

"In total, there were 96 Russian assault actions along the front, 1882 shellings of our positions, including 812 with heavy weapons, and more than 950 times Russian FPV drones were used," the head of state reported.

Zelenskyy added that on Sunday, April 20, "Moscow fell short in responding to both the proposal for a complete ceasefire for the next 30 days after Easter and the proposition to at least extend the silence in the sky regarding civilian infrastructure and refrain from missile and drone strikes."

"The nature of Ukrainian actions will continue to be mirror-like: we will respond to silence with silence, and defend against Russian attacks with our strikes. Actions always speak louder than words," the president added.
