In the Chernihiv region, the police seized almost 400 rounds of ammunition for an automatic rifle from a local resident

In the city of Ichnia, Pryluky district, police discovered nearly 400 combat cartridges for automatic weapons during a search of a 56-year-old man’s property.

This was reported by the police of the Chernihiv region on their official website.

During the search of the man’s estate, nearly 400 cartridges for automatic firearms with calibers of 5.45 and 7.62 mm were found. All ammunition was seized and sent for examination.

A criminal case was opened based on this fact under Article 263 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine, part 1 of Article 263 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (illegal handling of weapons, ammunition, or explosives).

The sanction of the article provides for a punishment in the form of imprisonment for up to seven years.

A pre-trial investigation is ongoing.
