Druzenko: TRCs demand from $2000 to $5000 for leaving
The head of the Pirogov Volunteer Mobile Hospital, Hennadiy Druzenko, spoke about widespread cases of corruption during mobilization in Ukraine.
According to him, it costs about $1000 for the possibility to get off the bus that delivers conscripts to the Territorial Recruitment Center (TRC), and to be released without further mobilization costs from $2000 to $5000.
"When you know the whole background, it’s just terrifying. They are slaves. If you end up in the TRC and are in good shape, you have to pay five thousand dollars to be released or transferred to your unit. If you are in poor shape, then your ’value’ is less," Druzenko stated.
He also emphasized that the current approach to mobilization, in his opinion, is far from fair and more akin to human trafficking.
