Julie Davis has arrived in Kyiv to lead the U.S. Embassy in Ukraine
On Monday, May 5th, the temporary Chargé d’Affaires of the United States in Ukraine, Julie Davis, arrived in Kyiv.
This was reported by the press service of the U.S. Embassy.
"We are delighted to welcome to Kyiv the temporary Chargé d’Affaires of the United States in Ukraine, Julie S. Davis," the statement said.
It is reported that Davis arrived in Ukraine "at a critical time" to continue the implementation of U.S. President Donald Trump’s policy aimed at ending the war and ensuring lasting peace and prosperity in Ukraine.
Who is Davis
Julie Davis is a senior-ranking diplomat and a recipient of the Presidential Rank Award. She holds a bachelor’s degree from the University of North Carolina and a master’s degree from Princeton University.
Davis is fluent in Russian and French. Prior to her appointment as the U.S. Ambassador to Cyprus, she served as the U.S. Special Envoy in Belarus, becoming the first U.S. Ambassador to that country since 2008.
She previously worked as the Deputy Assistant Secretary for Western Europe and European Union Affairs and as the Deputy Permanent Representative of the U.S. to NATO. Her career also includes various positions at the NATO Headquarters and U.S. embassies in Georgia, Ukraine, and Russia, as well as in the National Security Council and other divisions of the State Department.
