Zelenskyy congratulated Merz’s election: "We hope that Germany will become even stronger"

President Volodymyr Zelenskyy wished the newly elected Chancellor of Germany Friedrich Merz success and further strengthening of his country.

He wrote this on X.

Zelenskyy expressed gratitude for the support of Germany and its people, which "saved thousands and thousands of Ukrainian lives".

"We sincerely hope that Germany will become even stronger, and we will see even more German leadership in European and transatlantic affairs. This is especially important now, when the future of Europe, which depends on our unity, is at stake," the head of state noted.

He also wished Merz success in the position of Chancellor of Germany.
