In Chernihiv, a man threatened TRC military personnel with a knife: he was detained

This was reported by the Main Department of the National Police in the Chernihiv region.

“The police initiated a criminal case for threatening military personnel of the TRC and SS with physical harm. The suspect was promptly located and detained,” the statement reads.

The police noted that on the morning of May 8, there was a report that during the notification of citizens by TRC and SS employees in Chernihiv, an unknown man refused to provide documents for checking, behaved aggressively, pulled out a knife, and began to threaten them, and then fled.

Law enforcement officers promptly located the suspect, who turned out to be a 38-year-old local resident. During a personal search, two knives were found and seized from him. The physical evidence was sent for examination.

The police detained the perpetrator.

A criminal case was initiated under Part 1 of Article 350 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (threats or violence against an official). The article’s sanction provides for a restriction of freedom for up to three years.

Pre-trial investigation is ongoing.
