Nobody will withdraw our troops from our territories, - Zelenskyy

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy held a second conversation with his American counterpart Donald Trump after speaking with Russian leader Vladimir Putin.

Zelenskyy announced this information at a briefing, which was broadcasted by "Suspilne".

"The withdrawal of our troops from our territory will not happen; it is my constitutional duty, and that of our military... No ultimatums, no one is going to give up their land, their people, their homes. I do not know what principles are in the memorandum (previously announced by Putin - UP), if Russia demands the withdrawal of our army from our land, it means they do not want the war to end. After all, they clearly understand that Ukraine will not do this."

According to Zelenskyy, Trump believes that Russia is ready for compromises, and for him, it is most important that Ukraine and Russia begin direct negotiations. The President noted that he would like to see a ceasefire as the first step so that the Russians can demonstrate their genuine readiness to stop this war.

The President added that Ukraine would wait for the Russian version of the memorandum.
