Minus one more "Tor-M2": Ukrainian defenders destroyed an enemy AAM system

The defenders of Ukraine continue to destroy military equipment and personnel of the Russian occupiers along the entire front line. This time, our soldiers successfully destroyed the enemy’s "Tor-M2" anti-aircraft missile system.

The video of the coordinated work was published on the Telegram channel "Land Forces." It was noted there that the cost of the Russian equipment lost exceeds 20 million dollars.

"Another Russian ’Tor-M2’ has been destroyed. The strike on the short-range AAM was directed by the scouts of the ’Chornyi Lis’ brigade. The approximate cost of the destroyed object – $25 million," the message says.

The footage shows how, after being hit by the Defence Forces, the vehicle caught on fire and began to burn. Later, our soldiers deliver another strike that ultimately disables the equipment. In the end, the remains of the enemy equipment burn out somewhere in the middle of a field, enveloped in thick black smoke.

What is known about the destroyed "Tor-M2" anti-aircraft missile system

"Tor" (GRAU index – 9K330) is an all-weather tactical anti-aircraft missile system designed to perform air defence and missile defence tasks at the divisional level.

The "Tor" system is intended to protect important administrative, economic, and military targets, the first echelons of ground forces from strikes by anti-radar and cruise missiles, drones, guided glide bombs, airplanes, and helicopters, including ones made using "stealth" technology.

It can operate in both manual, with the involvement of operators, and fully automatic modes. The "Tor" system itself monitors the designated airspace and independently destroys all air targets not recognized by the "friend or foe" system.
