A tragic drone attack in Pryluky: a mother, a police officer daughter, and a one-year-old grandson killed203.
In Pryluky, Chernihiv region, Russian drones attacked the private sector. As a result, a 46-year-old mother, her 27-year-old daughter, a police officer, and a one-year-old grandson were killed.
The father of the police officer, who heads one of the fire departments, arrived to extinguish the fire and clear the debris.
All three were hiding in the bathroom
On the night of June 5, Russian troops attacked Pryluky, Chernihiv region. Two "Geran-2" drones hit the private sector. Neighbors say there was one strike first, immediately followed by the second.
When people ran outside, they saw that the private house of Victoria and Oleksandr Lebed was destroyed and on fire. Several fire departments arrived at the scene to rescue people. Among them was Oleksandr Lebed, the head of the family.

Unfortunately, under the rubble, his wife — 46-year-old Victoria, 27-year-old daughter, police officer Dasha Shyhyda, and her one-year-old son Mykhasyk were killed. All three tried to hide from the Russian shelling in the bathroom, but as a result of a direct drone hit, they died.
Dreamed of being a police officer since school
Dasha Shyhyda came with her little son to visit her parents in Pryluky. The summer in their own house and yard was a wonderful place for little Mykhasyk, who had just begun to walk. And the parents were happy to have the opportunity to spend time with their grandson.

Since 2020, Dasha had been working in the Patrol Police in Kyiv, where she met her future husband. In August 2023, they held a wedding, and already in the winter of the following year, they had a son.
"Dasha, while still in school, dreamed of becoming a police officer. I don’t know why, maybe because her father worked in the fire department. And she wanted to help and protect people. She was a very bright and kind person, I don’t remember her ever offending anyone," says her class teacher from Pryluky Lyceum No. 6, Liudmyla Kalish.

Even in school, Dasha was fascinated by sports, played in the school volleyball team, participated in all competitions, and supported the school’s teams.
In addition, she was very responsible for her age, and teachers could rely on her. When she enrolled in the Academy of Patrol Police after school, she was very proud of it.

She also tried to maintain relationships with her classmates. Although fate scattered them across different cities, they kept in touch through social networks and met up. Upon learning of the tragedy, her classmates organized a fundraiser to support Dasha’s father and husband.
