The line of the Russian offensive in the Sumy region has been halted, – Syrskyi

The Armed Forces of Ukraine have liberated the settlement of Andriivka in the Sumy region and improved their tactical position towards the village of Yunakivka, advancing into the territory by a distance of 200 to 700 meters.

This was reported by the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, General Oleksandr Syrskyi, during a conversation with media representatives, as reported by «Interfax-Ukraine».

According to the General, the enemy’s line of advance was halted at the boundary of Kindrativka – Andriivka – Yablunivka – Yunakivka. Syrskyi noted that in some areas, the front reaches the state border and even partially crosses into Russian territory. He emphasized that the situation in this area is currently under control.

The coordination of actions by Ukrainian units in this sector is managed by Brigadier General Oleh Apostol, who was recently appointed Commander of the Air Assault Troops by the decision of President Volodymyr Zelenskyy.

Additionally, General Syrskyi noted that the Armed Forces of Ukraine control approximately 90 square kilometers in the Hlukhiv district of the Kursk region. According to him, this is a preventive operation in response to the threat of a new offensive by Russian troops. In this area, according to the command, about 10,000 Russian military personnel are concentrated.
