Before his death, Portnov met with Zelenskyy’s business partner

Andriy Portnov, the former deputy head of Yanukovych’s Presidential Administration, who was shot dead in Spain, was in Kyiv before his death. There, he held meetings with several individuals close to the authorities, including Tymur Mindich, co-owner of Studio "Kvartal 95," a partner of Volodymyr Zelenskyy and a long-time associate of oligarch Ihor Kolomoiskyi, as well as with Deputy Head of the Presidential Office Oleh Tatarov and Director of the State Bureau of Investigation Oleksiy Sukhachev.

This was reported by Member of Parliament Yaroslav Zheleznyak on his YouTube channel.

According to Zheleznyak, Portnov spent two or four days in Ukraine, during which he managed to meet a number of officials. All the meetings, the deputy claims, took place not in the government quarter but in Koncha-Zaspa, where Portnov had an estate. He also noted that these meetings were likely private rather than official.

"After Portnov’s death, information about his presence in Ukraine immediately drew attention and was considered related to the murder. This does not correspond to reality," the parliamentarian emphasized.

The deputy paid special attention to Portnov’s meeting with Tymur Mindich, who is considered close to President Zelenskyy. Zheleznyak reported that several sources confirmed Mindich’s visits to Portnov’s estate, and they may have been frequent. Although the specific topic of the talks is unknown, there are assumptions about discussions of business matters, legal issues, or even political projects.

In this context, Zheleznyak recalled the connections of both men with Ihor Kolomoiskyi, who is currently in pre-trial detention. According to him, Portnov had long legally supported Kolomoiskyi, and Mindich was considered his trusted person, undertaking informal tasks in Kolomoiskyi’s business environment. Nonetheless, as the deputy’s sources state, Portnov did not hold a high opinion of Mindich, but this did not prevent them from having a personal meeting before the murder.

Regarding the meetings with Tatarov and Sukhachev, Zheleznyak clarified that these contacts had long existed and it is quite possible that the conversations could have concerned personal or unofficial matters.

Zheleznyak also refuted the information about a meeting between Portnov and President Zelenskyy or Head of the Presidential Office Andriy Yermak, emphasizing that sources do not confirm this.
