Occupiers attack Kharkiv region with fiber optic drones: the Armed Forces of Ukraine adapt

The enemy mostly attacks the defense forces’ positions in the Kharkiv region with drones on fiber optics, particularly near Vovchansk.

This was reported on the "Mi-Ukraine" TV channel by the head of the media interaction group, Senior Lieutenant of the "Hart" brigade, Oleksandr Danylenko.

"They are constantly improving and modernizing the drones. Now the drones reach us at a distance of 20 kilometers," the military officer said.

According to him, UAVs on fiber optics, which cannot be neutralized by electronic warfare means, pose a serious problem for Ukrainian military personnel.

"We are also countering them. Firstly, by inflicting damage with small arms, as well as using camouflage means," Danylenko emphasized.

He added that a drone on fiber optics has limitations due to the wire, which restricts the movement of the UAV.

"If you camouflage the position or set up barriers, this fiber optic can break, and then the control of the drone ceases," Danylenko explained.

According to him, the Armed Forces of Ukraine also strike at the launch sites of such drones.

"Destroying both the drone crews and the technical equipment, and everything else that’s there," Danylenko said.

At the same time, the head of the media interaction group of the "Hart" brigade noted that the occupiers install electronic warfare systems on all equipment used for movements. However, the Ukrainian Armed Forces apply mortars and artillery to destroy the invaders.

Moreover, the enemy army is trying to fortify in Vovchansk in the Kharkiv region. To do this, the occupiers use basements, cellars, and sewage systems.

"Vovchansk has long since turned into ruins. The enemy is trying to fortify, and the only option is underground communications. They are concentrating personnel for assaults, accumulating ammunition, and food supplies. The enemy is attempting to capture the Aggregate plant, but they are not succeeding," Danylenko noted.
