The co-owner of "Ukrbudinvestbank" Yuliya Podhornyts has been declared wanted for the embezzlement of hundreds of millions
Yuliya Podhornyts, one of the main shareholders of JSC "Ukrainian Construction and Investment Bank" ("Ukrbudinvestbank"), is wanted in a case of embezzlement of over 365 million hryvnias.
The relevant information has already appeared in the Ministry of Internal Affairs database.
According to the investigation, Podhornyts, together with Svitlana Demyanenko and other individuals, organized a financial scheme that led to the bank’s insolvency. Money was issued without proper registration, and documentation was forged to hide the lack of funds. As a result, the state was forced to compensate depositors for more than 500 million hryvnias through the Deposit Guarantee Fund.
Despite her key role in the case, Svitlana Demyanenko, who owned over 74% of the bank’s shares, is currently missing from the Ministry of Internal Affairs’ wanted list.
The pre-trial investigation is ongoing. The suspects are charged with Article 218-1 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (bringing a bank to insolvency).
