Trump claims that Ukraine will receive additional Patriot batteries "within a few days"

U.S. President Donald Trump announced the dispatch of additional Patriot missile defence systems to Ukraine.

He stated this to journalists on Monday during a meeting with NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte.

Trump confirmed that the military aid scheme to Ukraine involving European countries also includes Patriot systems – "with a full battery setup."

"Some of them will arrive very soon – in fact, within a few days. Several countries that possess Patriots are planning to ’exchange’ them, and we will replace the Patriots they have," – he explained.

The U.S. president further stated that "there is one country that has 17 Patriots ready for dispatch," without specifying which country he was referring to.

"And we will work on a deal whereby 17 or a significant portion of the 17 (Patriot systems – Ed.) will be sent to the battlefield. And this can be done very quickly," – Trump believes.
