The EU warned Ukraine: aid and accession depend on the independence of NABU and SAPO

European Commissioner Dombrovskis stated that financial support for Ukraine is conditional on the independence of anti-corruption organizations.

«Our current financial support for Ukraine is linked to ensuring transparency, reforms in the judicial system, and democratic governance. These same conditions apply to Ukraine’s accession process to the EU, which will also require significant efforts in fighting corruption,» Dombrovskis noted.

He emphasized that NABU and SAPO «are crucial for the reform agenda» and must operate without political pressure to «maintain public trust.»
