USA in the UN: Trump demands the war in Ukraine to be stopped by August 8

The United States has called for a peace agreement to end the war in Ukraine by August 8, 2025.

This statement was made by senior American diplomat John Kelly during a UN Security Council meeting, reports Reuters.

«Both Russia and Ukraine must agree to a ceasefire and establish lasting peace. It is time to sign the agreement. President Trump has made it clear that this needs to be done by August 8. The US is ready to take additional measures to ensure peace», — said Kelly before the 15 members of the Security Council.

Let us remind, Donald Trump previously announced an ultimatum according to which the armed conflict in Ukraine must be halted within 10 days starting from July 29. Thus, Washington considers August 8 as the last day to reach agreements.
