In Lviv, the exhumation of Polish soldiers from World War II has begun
The Ukrainian-Polish expedition has begun work aimed at reburial of the remains of Polish Army soldiers who died in 1939 during the defence of Lviv against German troops.
The work is taking place at the former cemetery in Zboishcha. So far, human remains have not yet been found at the site. However, preliminary information suggests that there may be up to 100 or more individuals.
It is noted that the expedition is part of a bilateral cooperation between Ukraine and Poland, aimed at jointly reflecting on historical events and restoring the memory of the victims of the Second World War.
