Carpathian border guards have refused bribes totaling nearly one million hryvnias since the beginning of the year

Border guards of the 7th Carpathian Border Detachment of the Western Regional Directorate of the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine have recorded 213 bribery attempts since the beginning of 2025.

This was reported by the Western Regional Directorate of the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine.

The total amount of offered illicit benefits reached nearly 1 million hryvnias. In July alone, border guards refused bribes totaling over 85,000 hryvnias. The money was attempted to be handed over both in hryvnias and in foreign currency — including US dollars.

The State Border Guard Service emphasized that all bribery attempts were properly documented and handed over to law enforcement for legal evaluation.
