Ukrainian air defence destroyed an "Iskander" and 16 drones used by Russians to attack Ukraine

This was reported by the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine on Telegram.

From 22:30 on Friday, August 8, Russian forces attacked Ukraine with 47 Shahed-type attack UAVs and decoy drones of various types from the directions of Kursk, Millerovo, Shatalovo (Russian Federation), as well as with two "Iskander-K" cruise missiles from the temporarily occupied part of the Zaporizhzhya region.

The attack UAVs targeted the frontline areas of the Chernihiv, Sumy, Kharkiv, and Donetsk regions, while the missiles targeted Dnipro.

The aerial attack was countered by air defence missile forces, electronic warfare units and drone systems, and mobile fire teams of the Defence Forces of Ukraine.

According to preliminary data, as of 09:00 on Saturday, August 9, the air defence shot down/suppressed an "Iskander-K" missile and 16 Shahed-type UAVs and decoy drones of various types in the north and east of Ukraine.

There were hits by 31 drones at 15 locations.
